Bio
Jeremy McGrath (born November 19th, 1971) is not only one of the most famous champions in Motocross and Supercross history, but he’s a legend of the sport who, in the 90's, racked up so many championships that he earned the nickname: The King of Supercross. In his youth, McGrath raced BMX, becoming one of the leading BMX racers in the nation and even had a "factory" ride with VDC. At fourteen, McGrath made the switch to Motocross and over the span of his career, he was part of the biggest teams in the sport, riding for Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, and Yamaha. On these bikes, he implemented techniques he learned from his days in BMX and translated those to the sport of MX and SX to create a unique style that truly revolutionized the sport.
In 1990, McGrath won his first SX race, and placed 2nd for the season. This would be the beginning of what’s known as the “McGrath Era,” of the sport. In ‘91 and ‘92, McGrath took the title for the 125 West Supercross and in ‘95, he claimed the 250 Outdoor Motocross Championship title. Between 1993 and 2000, McGrath won a record-breaking seventy-two 250cc Main Events, breaking another record in the process with 13 consecutive wins. During this time, he also won seven 250cc SX Championships, earned 12 AMA Motocross titles, two Motocross Des Nations titles, and an X Games Gold Medal and Bronze Medal. In 2003, McGrath was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
