I can’t wait to see more women engaged in a sport I love so much!
I hail from: A few different places, in sequential order: Born in Louisville, KY, moved to Kennesaw, GA, college in Murray, KY, worked in Louisville, KY, volunteered/lived in Quito Ecuador, worked in Appleton, WI, grad school in La Crosse, WI
But I have roots in: Boone, NC
I pay my rent/mortgage by: Working as an Occupational Therapist
My guilty pleasure is: Bourbon (although I don't really feel any guilt)
When I was little, I wanted to grow up and be: A veterinarian
Now that I’m all growed up, I really want to: Lots of options but the two that stick out: Own an animal rescue for older animals that no one wants or be an professional mascot, I like to dance and wear costumes
The best time I ever had on a bike was: Anytime I am with my friends and family and playing in the woods is a good time
The worst time I ever had on a bike was: Two really good options 1. Riding with my brother when a car hit him and he managed to total the car with his body (he's totally fine now and still biking) or 2. When I broke my leg and had to walk a mile and a half down some steep trails to get to the car.
I love being a Bell Joy Ride Ambassador because: I love encouraging new women to join a sport that seems intimidating when you first start
My mama always used to say: She didn't give me much advice, she knew I was too stubborn to listen
I’ve always wanted a pet: Donkey
Because: They are adorable, and sweet and love head scratches
Shout out to: Way too many important people and organizations to pick just one. Specifically regarding the Bell Joy Ride program in Boone, the ride leaders, bike shops, and organizations that support our mission of getting more women on mountain bikes.
Because: It truly is a community effort and the whole community deserves a shout out for their help
My five favorite words are: Let’s go play bikes, today!
