The Descendant
Building on the success of the Full-9, along with feedback from trusted athletes, and featuring new technologies we developed in-house, the Full-10 Spherical was engineered to be the new standard in DH fit, protection and style. Created in the Bell+Giro testing Dome in Scotts Valley, CA, our proprietary Spherical Technology™ powered by Mips® features a ball-and-socket design that helps redirect impact forces away from the brain, allowing the outer liner to rotate around the inner liner during a crash. In addition, the Spherical Technology channels inside the lightweight unidirectional carbon shell allow us to achieve superior ventilation like never before — what we are calling our Thermal Exchange Airflow System™ (T.E.A.S.). This system sucks in cool air like a vacuum and then expels hot air through the side and rear exhaust ports, because as any rider knows, ventilation and sweat management go hand-in-hand. With the Full-10, the effort is evident — from Ionic+™ antimicrobial* comfort padding and magnetic cheek pads to an integrated breakaway camera mount and titanium D-rings on the chin strap. This work has all been for you the rider, because when you are in the start gate, or at the lip of the jump that will launch you to glory, we want you to only be thinking about the ride ahead. Amazing tech with a different fit
After riding Bell full face helmets for the past decade or so, I knew I had to get the new Full-10 Spherical. It seems like helmet technology (dual density, mips, Spherical) has made big leaps and bounds in only the last 5 years. I especially appreciate the use of both EPP and EPS foam in the Full-10. Coming from the Full-9 (and the Moto-9, etc.), it's shocking that with all the new tech this helmet brings, that it's the same weight or lighter than it's predecessor. You just can't get full carbon + Spherical anywhere else! The ventilation is top of the heap too. Really a night and day difference from the Full-9, or most other helmets for that matter! The only downside is fit. Bells have always fit me perfectly, across probably 6 different versions of Bell helmets I've owned. But this one sadly doesn't. It doesn't fit like any Bell helmet over the last 15 years. It's big; so my size Medium is really like a "Medium and a half". Perhaps to make it fit looser, and more like a trail MTB helmet? Odd, but understandable. While Bell includes lots of extra pads in the box, those just can't make up for the space inside the helmet. So I'm doubling up the liner pads inside my 650$ helmet. 5+++ stars if the fit was standard.
