Important Recall Notice – Bell Pit Boss

Notice to inform you of a product recall affecting certain units of the Bell Pit Boss. During recent compliance testing, it was determined that these units did not meet required regulatory standards. Size medium helmets with a production date of 01/2025 are the only helmets that are being recalled.

Reason for Recall:

The recall is being initiated due to non-compliant test results identified during annual compliance check by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. While there have been no reported incidents, we are taking proactive measures to ensure full compliance and maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.

Action Required:

Please immediately:

  1. Stop sale of Bell Pit Boss helmets (SIZE MEDIUM; MANUFACTURED: 01/2025 only).
  2. Identify and quarantine any inventory of the impacted product.
  3. Return or destroy recall units. (Please make sure size and production date match before destroying.)

Replacement or Reimbursement:

Upon confirmation of the affected units, you will have the option to:

  • Receive replacement units that meet all compliance requirements.
  • Request reimbursement for the affected products at the original purchase price.

Once a helmet is confirmed, you can send helmet(s) back to Bell Sports. Please contact the consumer support team for return shipping directions and information. If you own a helmet that matches the size and production dates in Fig. 1, you can destroy the helmet by cutting the chin strap from the helmet. Please send photographs of the helmet and chinstrap removed, clearly showing the cut ends and legible label.
