Back in September we launched our Bell Joy Ride grassroots program and set out on a mission to find female ambassadors to represent our brand and help to inspire ladies of all levels to come together and ride in a fun, non-race oriented environment. Since then, we’ve found and have selected, 6 U.S. and ( 2 Canada) Bell Joy Ride Ambassadors and had welcomed them in this week to officially kick off the start to the Joy Ride Program in Santa Cruz, California!
As part of the Thursday-through-Sunday Joy Ride Camp launch, it all began with a celebratory meet and greet at Stockwell Cellars for a chance for everyone to meet our new Joy Ride Ambassadors followed by a rainy Friday ride from Ibis Cycles headquarters for some fun trail riding up in the mountains before heading back to Bell’s headquarters where we gave the ladies a complete tour and a classroom Joy Ride 101 session to give them all the tools needed to replicate the multi-level, social mountain bike women’s rides in their respective communities. Although Saturday’s rainy conditions had cancelled riding plans, we had an incredible day in store with a Girls Rock - Santa Cruz MTB Group rider appreciation party, a Santa Cruz ride that was the inspiration for the new program which included a variety of fun activities from educational ride clinics, mini-bike races, raffles, dogs, kids and great food.
