Mountain biking turned my world upside down. For 9 years, I fought wildland fires and had very little time to do extra-curricular activities like mountain biking. Work became less fun, while the little bit of mountain biking I did was exhilarating. In 2013, I rode my first full suspension mountain bike while competing in an Adventure Race in Moab, UT. It was then I realized that biking made me so happy and smile bigger than I had been in close to a decade.
Mountain biking not only changed my career path but also my whole lifestyle. In 2013, I resigned my position as a Senior Firefighter on a Helicopter Rappel crew and chose to work at a friend’s bike shop in Coeur’d’Alene, ID. I am confident that the decision to work at bike shops, get involved in the mountain biking community, and riding as much as possible was the best choice. I have a passion for people, community, and the outdoors!
