I absolutely love this shield. I have a TON of people ask me about it when I'm out riding... BUT the PRICE is way over priced for what my shield did to me. I had my shield for about a year and a half with my Bell Star and now it doesn't transition. It stays clear all the time even in direct sun light. For a $120 I was HIGHLY upset that my favorite shield had stopped doing what it was supposed to be doing and now had to put up my premium helmet til I save enough money to get another $120 shield, now I'm wear my ICON Airframe with the Chemilion shield and now I find it quite hard to go back to my PREMIUM helmet and shield. Bell and Solex you guys kinda trooped the ball on this shield by putting a LIFE SPAN on a $120 SHEILD!!!!!!
It's great for my purposes, I never liked bringing two different visor shades when I ride so it goes from day to night for me. However the one I got didn't come pinlock ready and I hope the new ones will.
The fact is the price is as marked and it performs as advertised and happens to be somewhat better than other options. And since it can be paired with many helmets it's easy to keep the total cost down when buying a new helmet.
I'd like it if they were able to integrate some form of polarization as well.
This is a great product but a bit pricy.
I leave for work before light and head home in bright sun. I was changing shields or just putting up with the sun; this shield is a great problem solver.
The only thing I would complain about is the price. At $120 it's a bit overpriced. IMHO the price point should be in the $60-$75 range. If it were a better value for the dollar, they would be very popular.
A bunch of people ask me about it and are very interested until we get to the price. As soon as they get the $120 figure they say "never mind" or "I can't believe you paid that much for a shield"
