I road race and usually buy a few helmets a year. The Vortex helmet has been awesome . I have had a few other helmets that aren't stable at speeds over 100, or worse the padding is so cheap it ends up touching your chin at the end of the straight. With the Vortex helmet I don't ever have to think about it. Shield changes are fast and easy. I don't think there is a better helmet out there for the price.
Went through several helmets through last race season. Wanted an affordable helmet that wouldn't break the budget but provide same protection as upper end helmets I was using. Snell 2010 and DOT can't go wrong there. Fit is a little snug as I am in between Med and Large. Went with large and it has the snug fit i was looking for but not to tight. Venting looks great which is always good when you are working hard on the track. Although you sacrifice a little quite perfect for track.
First Bell I have owned and I'm sold. I will continue to purchase Bell over the Higher $ competitors. Also the Transition shield is by far the best shield for riding the street.
If i had to give a con: it would be that it is a little loud but any helmet that has good ventilation is loud.

I just got my new Bell helmet in a glossy black and love it. I tried all the top brands Shoei, Icon, Arai, HJC, etc, and nothing fits or looks better than this helmet. This helmet is as good or better than most brands top of the line stuff. This helmet is replacing an old Shoei RF-900. The fit is perfect...the snug fit of the cheek pads is not unbearable at all. In fact, after a while I forgot I even had a helmet on. It does have a little bit of wind noise, but nothing I can't live with. Can't wait for my SOLFX transition shield to come in. If you are considering this helmet, go for it, you will love it.
Best looking, most affordable & loaded with features. I just got my helmet today and I thinks it's great. I also ordered the Dark smoke shield and it took all of 30 seconds to put that in place. The helmet is a snug fit and I may end up swapping the cheek pads for a smaller size but that is just another added benefit of the Bell vortex line. The color scheme matches my red/whte/blk S&S jacket perferctly.
Great looking helmet! Great performance too! Somewhat loud at speed and tight cheek pads! Ventilation is great and adjustable for varying conditions.
Got what I wanted! very satisfied, highly recommend to anybody! You really get your money's worth!
amazing super stable at high speeds and does not fog
Pro: The helmet is still great quality as I love Bell products.
Con: Way too loud, ear holes create too much road noise above 50 MPH. They should almost come with ear plugs for the helmet.
Con: The sizing has changed do to structure. Was a Sprint L now I need an XL.
