Just five weeks before the Dew Tour was held in San Francisco, Ryan Nyquist suffered a broken collarbone that had to be surgically repaired with a metal plate. Nobody – including Ryan himself – was sure if he was going to be able to ride at the Dew Tour.
After only two days back on his bike, Ryan found his groove in practice and qualified for the Dew Tour finals. Although he was in pain, like a true champion, Ryan lined up and gave it his all on the three finals runs to finish fourth overall. Not a bad way to come back and prove it takes a lot more than a broken collarbone to stop Ryan Nyquist at the ripe young age of 34. Expect to see Ryan back on the top step of the podium soon.
