Hailing from San Diego, Chad Kerley’s original style has been heavily influenced by skateboarding. He actually rides a skateboard himself and has translated its
attributes to his BMX bike. That fluid style of riding a board is evident in the technical street and park lines he makes look so easy. In 2012, Chad came into his own competitively, cinching his first gold at X Games China, and hosting the Chad Kerley Vitaminwater Invitational in Chicago. “Freestyle isn’t nearly as stressful as racing,” he says. “I’m not competing against somebody. I’m just riding around with my friends, making videos, and doing whatever I want.”
